1. Who we are

The Louk (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a luxury ski & après-ski clothing rental business based in Comber, Northern Ireland, serving customers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You can reach us at theloukni@outlook.com or on 07522 690563.

2. About our rentals

• Everything on The Louk is offered for hire, not sale. All items remain our property at all times.
• Standard rental periods are 3, 5 or 7 days. Longer periods can be arranged by agreement, charged per extra day.
• Rentals are by appointment. You try items on with us, choose your dates, and secure your Louk before your trip.
• Items are provided professionally cleaned and ready to wear. You do not need to clean them before returning — we take care of that.

3. Appointments

• A £15 appointment fee is payable to secure your try-on slot.
• This fee is fully redeemable against your rental — if you go ahead and hire with us, £15 comes off your total.
• If you do not proceed, or you do not attend (a “no-show”), the £15 is retained to cover our time and is non-refundable.

4. Booking & payment

• Your rental is confirmed once your dates are agreed and a 50% deposit of the rental price is paid to secure it. The balance is due on or before collection. The £15 appointment fee is redeemed against your total.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Prices are as shown at the time of booking. The rental price is per item, per rental period.

5. Damage & loss

Because our pieces are high-value designer items, please take good care of them while they are with you:

• Damage means any harm beyond normal wear — including stains, rips, tears, burns, broken zips/fastenings, or missing parts (e.g. detachable fur, belts) — that cannot be resolved by our standard cleaning.
• Minor accidental marks are covered if you have added Louk Cover (see section 6).
• Where an item is returned damaged beyond that, we charge the reasonable cost of repair or specialist cleaning. Where an item is lost, stolen, not returned, or damaged so badly it can no longer be rented, we charge the cost of replacing it — up to the item’s recommended retail price (RRP), shown on each product.
• We will always contact you and explain any charge, with evidence, before it is applied.

6. Louk Cover (optional damage protection)

• You may add Louk Cover — an optional £15 damage-protection fee — to your rental.
• Louk Cover covers minor accidental damage (small stains, marks or small rips arising from normal use), so these are not charged to you.
• Louk Cover is non-refundable, is charged per booking, and is not insurance.
• Louk Cover does not cover loss, theft, non-return, deliberate or negligent damage, or major damage that renders an item unwearable. These remain chargeable under section 5.

7. Looking after your Louk

• Please treat each item with reasonable care. Do not attempt to wash, dry-clean, alter, or repair it yourself.
• Please avoid smoking in the items and contact with fake tan, make-up, or dye where possible.
• Items must be returned with all original parts, tags, and accessories (e.g. belts, fur trims, dust bags).

8. Collection & returns

• Items are collected from and returned to us in Comber, or by arrangement. For Republic of Ireland customers, collection and return may be arranged via our driver.
• Items must be returned by the agreed return date.
• Late returns: if an item is not returned on time, a late fee equal to the daily rental rate applies for each additional day, and section 5 may apply if the item is not returned at all.

9. Cancellations & refunds

• The £15 appointment fee is non-refundable in the event of a no-show (see section 3).
• Cancel 14 or more days before your collection date: we will refund the deposit you have paid, less the £15 appointment fee.
• Cancel within 14 days of your collection date: your deposit is non-refundable, as the item has been reserved for your dates. Instead, we will hold it as a credit towards another rental with us this season.
• Louk Cover, if added, is non-refundable once your rental is confirmed.

10. Fit & suitability

Items are hired on an “as seen” basis at your try-on. It is your responsibility to make sure an item fits and is suitable for your trip before you take it. Sizes are a guide only.

11. Liability

• The Louk is not liable for any injury, accident, or loss arising from your use of hired items, including while skiing or travelling. Our clothing is fashion ski wear and is not a substitute for appropriate safety equipment.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and disputes are subject to the courts of Northern Ireland.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your rental is the one published at the time you book.
