⛷The skiing

Val Gardena is on the doorstep of the Sella Ronda - a ~40km circular tour right around the Sella massif that you can ski clockwise or anti-clockwise on lifts and pistes, one of the great days in skiing. The wider Dolomiti Superski pass covers 1,200km. Locally, the runs are mostly gentle-to-intermediate and beautifully groomed, with the dramatic Seceda ridgeline and the World Cup Saslong downhill for stronger skiers.

The Louk tip

Do the Sella Ronda early in the day and anti-clockwise (orange) to beat the queues - and build in a proper rifugio lunch. The huts here are the best in the Alps; don't just grab a quick bite.

🚁Getting there

The nearest airport is Innsbruck (around 1.5 hours over the Brenner), with Verona around 2.5 and Venice around three. Most people transfer by road; there's no train into the valley, so a transfer or hire car is easiest.
