Questions? We've got you.
Everything you need to know before you rent your Louks — the honest, no-jargon version.
The basics
So… what actually is The Louk?
Designer ski, snowboard & après wear — hired, not bought. Rent the labels you'd love (but would never quite justify buying), wear them all trip, then hand them back. No £2,000 jacket gathering dust for 51 weeks of the year.
Do I have to try things on first?
Only if you want to! Book a try-on and come play dress-up at ours in Comber — or, if you already know what you love, just WhatsApp us your favourite Louks and we'll sort the rest.
How far ahead should I book?
Sooner is better. Every Louk is one of one, so once it's booked for your dates, it's gone. If your trip's in the diary, your Louks should be too.
Sizing & fit
What sizes do you have?
We stock roughly XS–XL (UK 6–20) — but here's the honest bit: everything fits differently. A size 14 might fit a size 8 as an oversized piece, and a size 10 could run large and suit a 12–14. That's exactly why we recommend a try-on — tell us your usual size and we'll have a few options ready on the rail to find the one that's perfect on you.
What if it doesn't fit?
That's exactly what the try-on is for — come see us and we'll find your perfect fit before you commit. Happy to skip the try-on? Totally fine, just know fit isn't guaranteed when you order sight unseen (sizes are a guide).
The money bit
How much does it cost?
Every Louk shows its price for 3, 5 or 7 days — a fraction of the retail price, which we show alongside so you can see exactly what you're saving.
How do I pay?
No checkout here — we like to keep it personal. A 50% deposit secures your dates (Lou sends a secure Stripe link) and the balance is due on collection.
Is there a booking fee?
A £15 try-on fee holds your appointment — and it comes straight off your rental if you go ahead. It's only kept if you don't show up.
Spills, rips & real life
What if I spill something — or damage a piece?
Life happens on the slopes! Add Louk Cover (£15) and minor accidental damage — small stains, marks and small rips from normal wear — is covered, so it's not charged to you. It doesn't cover loss, theft or major damage though: if a piece comes back damaged beyond repair — so badly we genuinely can't rent it out again — you'd cover the cost of replacing it, up to the item's RRP (shown on every product). Either way, we'll always contact you and explain any charge with evidence first — never any nasty surprises.
Do I need to wash it before I return it?
Absolutely not — hands off! Pop everything back in the bag as-is and we handle all the cleaning. One less thing on your list.
Getting your Louks
How do I actually get my Louks?
Collect from us in Comber a day or two before you fly. In the Republic? If our driver's free we can sometimes deliver for a small extra charge — just ask.
When do I bring them back?
Please drop them back to us the day after you're home — prompt returns keep the rail moving for the next trip. No scrubbing needed though: we handle all the cleaning.
A few more
Can I book for my friends or a whole group?
Yes please! Styling a whole group head to toe is our favourite — round up your ski crew and we'll get everyone sorted.
What if my trip changes?
Life's like that. Cancel 14+ days before collection and we'll refund your deposit (less the £15 fee); within 14 days we'll hold it as credit for another Louk this season. Full details in our Terms & Conditions.
Still wondering something? Just ask — we're friendly.
